Crutches for Kindness - Donate to Support Amputees in Gaza
With the humanitarian crisis escalating in Gaza, it is now estimated there are over 10,000 people who have had one or both limbs amputated, including an estimated 5,000 children, and crutches, walking sticks and walking aids of all sizes – for adults and children – are desperately needed.
The Anglo-Jordanian Society (AJS), a charity based in the UK that promotes friendship and understanding between the UK and Jordan, has launched the “Crutches for Kindness” campaign, supported by The College of Medicine.
Co founder Amelia delivering over 120 of your donations to Physionet ahead of their onward journey to Gaza
This month we have been delighted to support their mission with the help of our partners Physionet to collect unwanted mobility aids, refurbish them at Physionet HQ before donating them directly to the Anglo-Jordanian Society to go out to Gaza.
We are delighted to confirm we have shipped 362 walking aids in total - 203 walking sticks,152 crutches and 7 walkers which thanks to your incredible donations will go direct to helping those affected by the war in Gaza.
As always, we encourage anyone reading this to check their cupboards for unwanted crutches, walking sticks or walking aids of any kind that the NHS will not take back to help us in our continued mission to support those in need overseas.
